Job Description

We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Presales Apprentice to join our team and support the connection between our technical consultants and the business side of the company. This role is a rare opportunity for a student in cybersecurity, engineering, or IT who’s curious not just about technical depth — but how real-world cybersecurity services are designed, pitched, and delivered.

As a key pivot between our Cybersecurity Experts and Sales/Marketing teams, you will:

  • Learn to analyze RFPs and client needs

  • Support the definition of technical solutions and work packages

  • Join calls and assist in translating complex cybersecurity concepts into clear, actionable project plans

  • Prepare and evolve proposal templates, technical documentation, and sales decks

  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and track service delivery up to handoff and potential upsell

This is a launchpad for a future career in presales engineering, cybersecurity consulting or sales.

What You’ll Gain

  • A real-world view of how cybersecurity services are shaped, sold, and delivered

  • Exposure to emerging security standards and their impact on digital product design

  • Mentorship from experienced consultants, sales professionals, and evaluators

  • A springboard toward roles like Presales Engineer, Cybersecurity Consultant, or Technical BDM

  • A chance to make meaningful contributions from day one, working with international clients and cross-functional teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including drafting, structuring, and maintaining templates and working packages aligned with service lines such as Risk Assessments, Penetration Testing, RED/CRA advisory, IEC 62443, FIPS 140-3, and EUCC evaluations.

  • Coordinate presales activities by tracking inputs, deadlines, and internal dependencies across sales, consultants, and project teams — ensuring timely and accurate technical contributions.

  • Develop and maintain sales documentation such as vertical-specific pitch decks, technical experience references, and tailored working package presentations (e.g. Medical IoT, Industrial Automation, Smart Consumer Devices).

  • Assist in responding to complex RFPs and tenders, consolidating deliverables and coordinating internal reviews for cybersecurity compliance services.

  • Join discovery and client meetings to support needs qualification, translate technical requirements into proposal elements, and contribute to presales planning.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Sales, Technical, Marketing) to align new service offerings with supporting sales collateral and positioning strategy.

  • Conduct targeted research on emerging cybersecurity regulations (e.g. Smart Contracts, Medical Device Security, FIPS 140-3), industry trends, and competitive positioning to enhance our sales playbooks and go-to-market strategies.

Preferred Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand both technical concepts and business needs

  • Clear, confident communication skills - both written and spoken - in English (French is a plus)

  • Comfort with public speaking and presenting technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Curiosity and motivation to learn about cybersecurity regulations, compliance frameworks, and digital trust ecosystems

  • Organized and comfortable using tools like Google Workspace, HubSpot CRM, and collaborative platforms

🏅Bonus: Interest in topics like CE marking, product certification, cybersecurity schemes (e.g. EUCC, RED, CRA), or EU digital policy

Recruitment Process

  • Initial Interview: We’ll begin with a conversation to understand your background, what draws you to cybersecurity and presales, and how your goals align with Red Alert Labs’ mission. This is your chance to share your interests and how you envision growing in a client-facing, technical role.

  • Practical Exercise – Real-World Scenario: You’ll complete a short case-based exercise simulating a typical client request. You’ll be asked to analyze a cybersecurity need and propose a high-level approach, showcasing your ability to understand, structure, and communicate technical insights.

  • Technical Competence: We’ll explore your ability to understand and communicate cybersecurity services in a presales context. This includes how you approach tasks like preparing proposal templates, structuring service offers, and coordinating inputs for RFPs or client decks. We’ll also assess your clarity in explaining technical topics, your organization and collaboration skills, and your curiosity about emerging cybersecurity regulations and product compliance frameworks.
